The Kansas City Sluggers are a traveling showcase baseball organization for 15-18 year old young men.  We will commence our fourth season this summer under the direction of Brian McRae. Our teams are comprised of 18-20 young men in and around the KC Metro area looking to gain experience, preparation, and knowledge to play collegiate baseball and get a college degree.

In order to be successful in our goals, the Sluggers are looking for financial support from individuals and businesses to help cover costs for the purchasing of equipment, uniforms, travel expenses, tournament entry fees, field rental and umpire payments.

We are a 501(c)3 NON-PROFIT organization. For more information please contact Brian McRae @ 913-579-3244.  Thank you for your support!

In the News

To Parents & Players,

If you are truly serious about baseball, than you need to highly consider the most respected and competitive baseball programs in the area—the KC SLUGGERS!

In our opinion, this could be one of the best decisions you will make. The SLUGGERS take competitive baseball very seriously.  Let us tell you, as parents, this is one of the best baseball programs offered in the mid-west for young men that want to compete at a higher level, and this organization provides the direction and opportunities needed for them to do so!  This outstanding program was a very positive experience for both our son and our entire family.  We cannot say enough wonderful things about all aspects of the SLUGGERS program.

This exceptional program is under the direction of former Major League player, Brian McRae.  McRae played baseball for the KC Royals, Cubs, Mets, Rockies & the Toronto Blue Jays during his 10 year career in the Majors.  Coach McRae’s involvement in every aspect of the SLUGGERS program insures that each player is receiving he best direction and coaching possible to improve their play. His experience and background are paramount to the success of the SLUGGERS!

The entire SLUGGERS coaching staff is very knowledgeable, supportive, and competitive, and most of all they are objective & fair.  Most of them have played or coached at the college level and bring a wealth of experience to the teams. They will push your son to limits he never dreamed possible, but they make their expectations of each player clear from the very beginning. Their toughness is paired with a true sense of care and compassion for these players both on and off the field.  Boys become men under the SLUGGER leadership.

Our son, Landon, learned so many things from his involvement with SLUGGERS baseball.  He learned self-discipline & how hard work will pay off in all aspects of life. He learned the importance of academics off the field and the key role this plays in opening doors of opportunity at the next level. He developed good time-management skills while juggling school, activities and study time around daily practice and games.  These skills helped him so much during his high school season. He learned what it means to be a part of a team and the responsibility that goes with being a part of something larger.

Landon is now playing Division 1 baseball at the University of Northern Colorado. His education is supported by baseball and academic scholarships.  He would be the first to tell you he is living his dream playing at this level and getting a great education as well.  He would also tell you it was all possible because he was able to develop & improve his skills while playing for the KC SLUGGERS and the dedication and influence of Coach McRae and all of the SLUGGERS coaches.

The SLUGGERS focus on success and excellence both on the field, in the classroom and in life overall.

This program far exceeds any competitive baseball program around!  We guarantee that the decision to become a part of the KC SLUGGERS Competitive Baseball program will be one decision you never regret!

The KC Sluggers baseball program is a nationally known baseball program and is well respected in amateur baseball circles. Our reputation has developed from our hard-nosed style of play and the success that we have had against the top baseball organizations in the country. The KC Sluggers started in 1991 with a group of 10-year-olds from the Blue Springs, Missouri area. The team moved each year through the different age brackets, with its nucleus of players remaining the same through nine years. In 2000 the KC Sluggers had for the first time, two teams playing on the national scene. This past year the KCSluggers organization sponsored three teams (18u, 17u, 16u ).

The KC Sluggers program has been an invaluable asset for our college bound athletes. In the past ten years 190 KC Sluggers have graduated to play college baseball across the country in Junior College, Division II and Division I programs and 33 players have been chosen in the annual Major League Baseball Draft. One of those draftees is three-time National League MVP Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2008 Aaron Crow became the highest pick in Slugger history as the 9th pick in the first round by the Washington Nationals. In 2005 two other former KC Sluggers made their Major League debuts, Shaun Marcum with the Toronto Blue Jays, and Joey Devine with the Atlanta Braves.
